My name is Johann Martinez (McCullough) and I am the mother of three boys who have participated in recreational and travel hockey over the many previous years. As like my husband, our children were born and raised into the sport of hockey. Dylan and Trenton-Ira presently play for DC WIND and will continue to move on to 8U and 10U teams for 2019-2020 season. We recently moved to Farmington, UT this last August. Together we have been active with DCYHA in volunteering as team manager and hockey coach for 6U and 8U. In addition to volunteering for DC Wind organization opportunities, I participate in the community support group for the Clearfield High School AFROTC Program where my Husband works. We participate in fundraising, community outreach and provide adolescent mentorship. I also have a gained knowledge of the hockey game and rules due to my Husband and eldest Son being on-ice and off-ice hockey officials for 10U through ECHL. We are a hockey family by heart and have unmatched proof of dedication with the 40+ years being chilled in the rinks performing volunteer duties, officiating, coaching, cheering, and traveling to spectate such an awesome sport!
In my previous professional career, I served in the United Stated Air Force as a Fuel System Mechanic and as a Fuel Systems Instructor. In my 12 years serving I have learned a great deal about leadership, discipline, flexibility teamwork, and putting the needs of the people at the center of decision making. I have also completed my Bachelors Degree in Entrepreneurship within the last two years. I have the ability to store, organize, problem solve and communicate information, all of which will be essential to a board member position. I have served on countless committees and have had the privilege of being the lead on some of these as well. I feel the experiences have helped me understand how to listen and use information available to make educated decisions about what is best for moving an organization forward in a positive direction.
My roles as a team manager and military member have given me many skills that will help me serve the organization in a positive way as a Board Member for DCYHA.
