Recreational Hockey

Davis County Youth Hockey Association

DCYHA  recreation hockey programs emphasize fun above all else and is our primary mission.  As a USA Hockey organization, all age divisions follow the USA Hockey American Developmental Model standards for practices and the USA Hockey rulebook for games.

Age levels are determined by year of birth not the school year calendar.  Age divisions offered by DCYHA include 6U-6 years of age and under through 14U - 14 years of age and under.  We also offer an All Girls Teams as well.  These ages are from the 10U to 19U age groups!

Practices typically begin in Mid-September.  Games begin in late-October, early-November and run through the following March.

Practices are scheduled during weekday evenings and games are typically on Saturday morning.  Practices are held at the South Davis Recreation Center in Bountiful, as well as at the Salt Lake Sports Complex located in Salt Lake City (about 20-minutes from SDRC). Games are played in Bountiful, Logan, Ogden, Taylorsville, Park City, Provo and Vernal, Utah.

DCYHA Girls Team(s)

This is a brand new team/division DCYHA is very proud to offer.  The first full season for our girls team occurred during the 2022-2023 regular season.

For the 2023-2024 season, we are offering this division to ALL girls, ages 10U to 19U.  Once registrations come through, we will divide the teams up based on the ages that register.

All Girls teams are a No Checking Division at all age groups.

6U - 6 years of age and Under

Formerly the Mini Mite division, these are the youngest players in the DCYHA program .  There is no minimum age to participate in the program.  To particpate, a child must be able to stand up on the ice, from a fallen position, on their own, in full hockey gear.

Those aged 6 and under, who meet the minimum skill requirement, are welcome to register for the DCYHA program.  Registration is open throughout the season.  New and returning players are encouraged to join the program at anytime.  If a team has reached capacity, parents are still encouraged to talk with the DCYHA Director of Hockey to explore playing options.

The 6U age division practices on the same days and times with the 8U age division.  The players are separated into groups of similar skill level.  The 6U players play scrimmages against local 6U teams and are scheduled as often as ice is available.  Play is cross ice with smaller goal nets and there no goalies in the 6U division.
